Galaxy Book S abandoned ARM processor to move to Intel

the list on the Samsung website shows that the Galaxy Book S has the same design and specifications as before. However, the difference is that it uses the Core i5-L16G7 Lakefield processor, which Intel has not yet made. officially announced.

in August, when the Galaxy Book S was released, it used a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx processor to meet ARM-based Windows 10 laptop requirements. Although ARM is designed to run x86 / x64 applications, the system requires more computing power than usual, which Snapdragon 8cx cannot do.

With the new update from Samsung, the Korean company is apparently no longer interested in developing laptops with ARM chips. This leads to certain advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that Windows applications can run faster in ARM. However, the Intel version only offers 17 hours of battery life, less than 25 hours in the Snapdragon 8cx version when the same task is assessed.

In fact, Galaxy Book S with Windows for ARM will have 4G LTE key moments and battery life of up to 25 hours. Without it, it will be like other laptops that consumers like about Intel processors that do a better job.

The Galaxy Book S is one of the ARM-based Windows 10 laptops, however, things can change when Samsung seems to be shifting the Galaxy Book S to an Intel processor.
