Galaxy S30 may not support super-fast charging

Those who expect the S30 Series smartphones to be upgraded with even faster-charging speeds will be disappointed by the latest news from China.

MyFixGuide has discovered a new listing on China’s 3C certification website that most likely reveals the charging speed of the Galaxy S30. The model number of this smartphone is SM-G991. Based on model number naming, this is the lowest-priced device in the S30 Series.

The listing shows that the Galaxy S30 model only supports 25W charging, far from the 65W mentioned in an earlier leak. It turns out that Samsung just seems to want a faster charging speed for the higher-end version, such as the S20 Ultra that supports 45W charging.

However, it’s also possible that the charging speed is limited by the charger itself, not necessarily by the phone itself. Although Samsung will sell the product with a charger (unlike the iPhone 12), it may ask users to spend extra money to buy a faster charger.

Previously, according to another 3C certification list, Galaxy S30 will be equipped with 4,000 mAh battery, Galaxy S30 Ultra will keep the same 5,000 mAh battery capacity of S20 Ultra. Most notably, the S30 Plus’s battery can reach 4,800 mAh, higher than the 4,500 mAh of the S20 Plus.
