The feature mentioned by Google in December 2022 for Chrome browsers on Mac, Windows, Linux, and Chromebook has officially been rolled out.
Accordingly, the memory saving feature (Memory Saver) will automatically free memory from inactive tabs, thereby freeing up more resources for other websites and applications on the computer. Inactive pages will remain visible in the tab strip and reload immediately when the user selects them. Once updated, the Chrome browser will display in the address bar a clock icon, informing that the card is inactive, which will save how much memory space.
Google Chrome still allows users to add pages to the list to always keep them active if they have problems with Memory Saver or don’t want to wait for the tab to refresh. Google says this feature will help Chrome use up to 30% less memory, especially making videos and game tabs work more smoothly.
The second feature is Energy Saver, which Google says helps Chrome save battery by limiting background activity and visual effects. The company optimizes animations and scrolling effects, as well as reduces video frame rates. You may notice changes in game and video performance when Energy Saver is active, which will have a leaf icon to the right of the Address Bar.
Besides turning on and off manually, Chrome offers 2 automatic options for this: turn on when the battery is only 20% or when the laptop is on battery.
Currently, the two memory and energy-saving features have been available since the version with Chrome 110 on Mac, Windows, and Chromebook in recent days. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can copy the two paragraphs below

Next, paste them in turn in the Google Chrome browser address bar and select Enable to activate.
