Google launches tool to ‘save’ hacked YouTube accounts

YouTube has recently unveiled a new tool aimed at aiding content creators in regaining control of hacked accounts. According to Android Authority, this new tool uses AI to streamline the account recovery process for content creators. It is integrated into YouTube’s help center and employs AI to assist users through the recovery process without the need to directly contact Google support. Users will be prompted to answer questions about their channel, including any recent unauthorized changes.

In the event of a hacked account, users can regain control more expediently than with previous methods, which necessitated contacting support and awaiting verification.

Presently, Google offers this tool to select verified content creators with reputable accounts. However, the company plans to expand this feature to all users.

Despite this advancement, there is no absolute assurance that recovery will always be successful. If users encounter issues, they can still seek additional support through the @TeamYouTube account on social network X (formerly Twitter).

The introduction of this new tool showcases YouTube’s commitment to enhancing security measures and providing better support to users in the event of compromised accounts. Nonetheless, the actual efficacy of the tool will require further evaluation in the coming days.
