Google Meet adds 360-degree virtual wallpapers on mobile devices

Google just added a new 360-degree video wallpaper to its library of live wallpapers, for use in calls with Google Meet on mobile devices.

According to PhoneArena, these wallpapers use the gyroscope in the user’s device to create a dynamic experience that moves with them as they move around. Options for these 360 wallpapers include a beach and a temple.

While this is a feature of Google Workspace, it will be available to all users with a Google account, not just those with a corporate account. However, those who want to use it at work will have to depend on the decision from IT administrators whether to turn it on or off. This feature is accessible on both Android and iOS devices.

The update also brings a bunch of new improvements to the Google Meet app, including the addition of web meeting responses, Meet hardware, and iOS.

Video conferencing has become an essential tool in this day and age, but given the lack of improvements in webcam quality, improvements on the software side would be appreciated.
