Google Meet has a new design on Android and iOS devices

In order to compete with Zoom, Google is rumored to be trying to merge its two key apps, Meet and Duo, into one home.

According to PhoneArena, for that to work properly, the company needs to make changes to both apps. This is considered the reason why Google made a first important change for Meet, with a refreshed interface on both Android and iOS platforms. In fact, the new visual language provided by Google in this update makes the Meet app look like a meeting experience in the Gmail app.

It is known that the Gmail app had Meet shortcuts in the previous update, allowing users to open the application with the meeting button directly from within Gmail. This time, alongside the improved design, a New Meeting button has been added to the Meet app. When you click the New Meeting button, the user will see three options:

  • Get meeting joining info to share with others.
  • Start a Meet call instantly.
  • Schedule a new meeting in Google Calendar.

According to Google, the new Meet update is rolling out for iOS devices, but Android users will get it soon as well. After downloading and updating its Meet app, all visual changes will be enabled by default, so users won’t have to do anything.
