Google Meet is free until September

Given Zoom’s explosive growth in recent years due to the Covid 19 pandemic, Google has decided to make the Google Meet platform free for everyone.

According to the Android Authority, Google has announced that it will offer free meets to everyone in the next few weeks. Previously, Meet was limited as a G Suite productivity solution for businesses and schools.

“Starting in early May, anyone with an email address can sign up for Meet and enjoy many of the same features available to our business and educational users, such as simple scheduling. and screen sharing, real-time annotation, and adaptive layout options, ”explained Google.

Google notes that meetings are limited to 60 minutes when using Meet for free, but this limit will not exist from now until September 30.

For G Suite users, they have access to Meet’s advanced features such as live streaming to 100,000 viewers in one session, at least from now until September 30.

The search giant has also invited some interesting usage statistics for Meet, with an additional 3 million users per day. Google says it has seen its highest daily usage increase 30 times since January, as well as 100 million people attending daily meetings.
