Here are the features of macOS Sonoma not available on Intel Macs

Numerous new features have been added to macOS Sonoma, the newest operating system from Apple that was unveiled at WWDC 2023 and will be made available to Mac users in the fall. Some of these features, however, are exclusive to Macs with Apple Silicon chips.

Here’s a list of the new features of macOS Sonoma that are only available to users with Apple Silicon-based Macs and not for users with Intel Macs:

Presenter Overlay: A brand-new video effect emphasizes the person being shown by elevating it above the material being shared. There are two overlap options: large and small. You are highlighted by the large overlay, and your screen is framed next to you on a different level. In front of your content, you are free to walk, talk, and move around.

React with your hands: add a reaction with fun 3D augmented reality effects like hearts, confetti, fireworks, and more. You can share a reaction with a simple hand gesture. This feature is available when using the built-in webcam on Mac computers with Apple Silicon or on any Mac when using Continuity Camera with iPhone 12 and later.

Game Mode: Automatically prioritizes games on your Mac’s CPU and GPU, reducing usage for background tasks. It also significantly reduces latency with wireless accessories, such as AirPods and your favorite controllers, for tangible responsiveness. Compatible game controllers work with selected games and are sold separately

.Siri: Now it works when you just say “Siri” as well as “Hey Siri.” Available in English (Australia, Canada, Great Britain, United States) on Mac with Apple Silicon and AirPods Pro (2nd generation)

macOS Sonoma will be available to the public this fall and supports some Macs with Intel processors
