Honor accuses Apple of copying the Dynamic Island idea

CEO Zhao Ming of Honor, which spun off from Huawei in late 2020, said it was the first company to introduce the Dynamic Island-style feature before Apple included it in the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022.

According to PhoneArena, speaking at the MWC Shanghai event (China), Mr. Ming said that the phone industry is being held back by a lack of innovation, especially as Apple is facing annual innovation obstacles. feature Mr. Ming took for example the Dynamic Island similar to the Smart Capsule found on the Honor V20 that was released in 2019

Dynamic Island is the first feature Apple has equipped on the iPhone 14 Pro with a pill-shaped cutout. This clipping can change size and shape according to ongoing notifications and activities, such as charging status and incoming calls.

This is one of the standout features of the iPhone 14 Pro series, something that even the standard iPhone 14 models don’t have. Immediately after the appearance of Dynamic Island, some Android manufacturers immediately copied this idea, while some developers created applications to provide Android users with an interactive experience with the software.

However, Honor claims that Dynamic Island is in fact just an idea taken from the Smart Capsule feature. It’s a series of pill-shaped images displayed on the right side of the camera cutout that can display information such as call duration. In fact, not only Honor V20 but before LG V10 also has a small secondary screen at the top to display notifications and shortcuts.

Of course, Dynamic Island is not quite the same as the original Honor V20 because Apple has tweaked it to become more lively. In addition, Honor did not say much about this feature when their product was launched
