Huawei Mate 60 sells better than iPhone 15 in China

Huawei Mate 60 series has received great success since its launch as it not only marked the appearance of Kirin chip after many years but also became popular in China.

According to GizChina , the latest report from Counterpoint Research shows that Huawei sold 1.6 million Mate 60 phones after launch and more than the iPhone 15 series in the Chinese market. However, the Mate 60 series launched before the iPhone 15 series by a few weeks

Counterpoint Research was unable to give exact figures on how many Mate 60 models were sold, but they noted that Huawei shipped 1.6 million units in just 6 weeks. That’s a huge number of models sold in a relatively short period of time.

Previously, analysts estimated that iPhone 15 shipments within the first 17 days decreased by 4.5% compared to iPhone 14. While iPhone sales decreased, the popularity of Huawei Mate 60 increased. Now, a 4.5% drop may not seem like much, but this small percentage equates to millions of units.

China is important to Apple because this is the region where Apple ships the largest number of iPhones. But with the revival of the Mate 60 series, things don’t look good for the current iPhone models in China.

What’s more important is that Huawei has ramped up production of the Mate 60 series to ensure sufficient supply, but again, the manufacturer behind the Kirin 9000S chip , SMIC, currently does not have access to advanced EUV machines, making them facing limitations in providing chips to Huawei
