Intel is set to launch the first two GPU models in its Battlemage line on December 3. The products, known as Arc B580 and B570, are designed to deliver strong performance at competitive prices as part of the Xe2-HPG architecture.
According to reports from Wccftech, these GPUs represent Intel’s new venture into the low-cost GPU market, aiming to make a significant impact in this segment. The Arc Battlemage B580 model will feature the Battlemage BMG-G21 GPU with 20 Xe2 cores, 12 GB of GDDR6 memory, and a 192-bit bus. It boasts a maximum clock speed of 2.8 GHz and includes advanced technologies like Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) and Intel Xe Matrix Extensions (XMX). In contrast, specifics about the Arc B570 are more limited, with Intel confirming it will have 18 Xe2 cores but withholding further details at this time.
Following the launch, Intel plans to allow product reviews for limited edition models on December 12, with sales commencing that day. Partner-produced versions (AIB) will be available for review starting December 13, strategically timed to highlight the Intel-designed models first.
While Intel has not yet outlined plans for high-end or lower-end GPU models, further details are anticipated during the upcoming launch event. Market predictions suggest that Arc B580 will retail for around $250 to 260 USD, a competitive price point that appeals to budget-conscious users and gamers.
The introduction of the Battlemage series is expected to bolster Intel’s presence in the discrete GPU market, where Nvidia and AMD currently hold dominant positions. By concentrating on the low-cost segment, Intel aims to capture the interest of general consumers and gamers with more limited budgets. Additional information will be unveiled during the official event in early December.
