Intel is about to introduce a mobile CPU ‘monster’

Benchmarks of Intel Core i9-13900HX CPUs, which Intel is about to introduce at CES 2023 taking place early next year, have been leaked with impressive numbers.

According to Digitaltrends, if the benchmark numbers for Intel’s upcoming laptop CPUs are accurate, they could easily dethrone even some of the best desktop CPUs. Even unreleased chips can be overlooked, such as the Apple M2 Max.

The Intel Core i9-13900HX processor belongs to the Raptor Lake-HX series for laptops, with the specific target of the best gaming laptops. Even if the Core i9-13900HX is not the most powerful, which belongs to the unreleased Core i9-13980HX, it is still a mobile CPU “monster” based on the latest leaked benchmarks.

The specifications also show that this is a high-end CPU, with 24 cores and 32 working threads, with a base clock speed of 3.9 GHz and boost up to 5.4 GHz. This CPU has a voltage rating of 55W in PL1 mode and up to 100W in PL2 mode. Wccftech reports that this CPU will be integrated with a graphics card with 32 execution cores (EU). However, with high-end gaming laptops, very few manufacturers will take advantage of the integrated GPU power.

Speaking of the new CPU, the Geekbench 5 test shows it scoring 2,039 (single-core) and 20,943 (multi-core), easily surpassing other laptop CPUs. In fact, this CPU can also beat current-generation desktop chips, not to mention the Apple M2 Max. upcoming

Based on these results, the Intel Core i9-13900HX CPU will be the fastest laptop processor when released. In the single-core test, it is slightly better than the previous-generation Intel Core i9-12900HX, but the multi-core score is far ahead when the Core i9-12900HX scores less than 16,000 points in the exact measurement.

When compared to desktop CPUs, the Core i9-13900HX’s multi-core performance is better than the Core i7-13700K, Core i9-12900KS, and Core i9-12900K. It’s also only 14% slower than the Ryzen 9 7950X, despite the fact that the AMD CPU runs at 230W instead of 55W to 100W. Compared with the leaked benchmark results of Apple M2 Max, Wccftech says Intel’s CPU is up to 44% faster.
