iOS 18 allows hiding app labels on the home screen

The latest iOS 18 update from Apple brings a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and introduces several new customized features designed to enhance user experience.

According to GSMArena, one notable feature in iOS 18 allows users to freely move icons on the home screen, creating additional space – a departure from Apple’s previous restrictions.

Moreover, MacRumors has discovered an interesting feature in the iOS 18 beta version for developers. Users now have the option to hide application labels from their home screen, resulting in larger app icons without the annotations.

For those who have downloaded the iOS 18 developer beta and are keen to try this feature, here are the steps to enable it: Access the home screen, press and hold on an empty area, tap Edit in the top left corner, select Customize, and then tap the Large button. Once done, the home screen will display larger app icons without the text annotations of the app names.
