iOS 18’s breakthrough helps iPhone enter the AI era

According to a recent report by Bloomberg, Apple is set to unveil a range of new artificial intelligence (AI) features with the launch of iOS 18. The new capabilities promise to usher in a new era for the iPhone by enabling it to operate entirely on the device without relying on cloud servers.

One of the most significant advantages of these new AI features is that they won’t require an internet connection, making them more secure and reliable. Although Apple is still working with other companies, such as Google, OpenAI, and China’s Baidu, to explore cloud-based AI features like synthetic AI, the new features will operate entirely on the device.

While iOS 18 is not expected to include a self-developed chatbot similar to ChatGPT, reports suggest that the update will introduce new AI features to applications such as Spotlight, Siri, Safari, Shortcuts, Apple Music, Messages, Health, Numbers, Pages, and Keynote. Synthetic AI is also set to improve Siri’s ability to answer complex queries and allow apps to complete input sentences automatically, enhancing the user experience.

Apple is also actively purchasing AI servers, leading analysts to speculate that the company may launch its own cloud-based synthetic AI features in the future. The upcoming developer conference, WWDC, scheduled between June 10 and 14, will see Apple unveil iOS 18 and other software updates.

The development of AI technology has led to increased demand for smart devices and applications that offer superior functionality and convenience. Apple’s focus on strengthening its research and development of AI functions will undoubtedly enhance the competitiveness of its products and provide users with an even more effective and seamless experience.
