iPhone 12 will not support 120Hz display

The iPhone 12 went into mass production, but what many would expect – a 120 Hz refresh rate screen will most likely not be available on this device.

According to PhoneArena, many rumors have popped up and mentioned the ability to turn on / off 120 Hz screens on iPhone 12. Even some recent reports have sparked hope for “defective” fans is at least the Pro version will support 120 Hz display.

But Jon Prosser, who specializes in providing prediction information about Apple and Android, has just posted on Twitter that the 120 Hz screen will not be present on the iPhone 12. Prosser once gave correct information about the iPhone SE coming out. April 15 and the improved 13-inch MacBook Pro are introduced on April 4.5.

Last month, it was reported that Apple was having trouble finding control ICs that are crucial to manufacturing high-frequency displays. An iPhone 12 Pro Max model with a 120 Hz display was also detected. Apple is said to be trying to make a display that works with a 60-96 Hz controller IC, but seems to have been scrapped.

Prosser says the iPhone 12 has officially entered mass production and has seen no sign of a version with a 120 Hz display.

Apple will most likely announce the iPhone 12 on October 13 and start shipping on October 23. The iPhone 12 Max and iPhone 12 Pro appear to go on sale before both the standard version and the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
