In its latest report, TrendForce believes that Apple will indeed increase the RAM in the iPhone 15 models launched by the company this year.
According to BGR, while not speculating that RAM will increase from 6GB to 8GB as before, TrendForce says “Apple will increase the capacity and specifications of DRAM solutions” on the iPhone 15 models. This is in line with TrendForce’s estimate that the average annual growth rate of DRAM on smartphones will reach about 6.7% by 2023.
If the information is correct, this will be the first RAM increase since the iPhone 12 Pro when the company equips this product with 6 GB RAM. While the same type of RAM is available for all four models, it’s important to note that the iPhone 15 models will typically come with the A16 Bionic chip, while the iPhone 15 Pro version will have the newer A17 Bionic chip manufactured under the A17 Bionic chip. 3nm process technology.
Previously, analyst Ross Young said that Apple will bring Dynamic Island to all iPhone 15 models, but that does not mean that all versions will have Always On or ProMotion screen technology. Mr. Young believes that these two features will be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro series.
The addition of Dynamic Island to the regular models should help Apple boost sales after the standard iPhone 14 models underperformed their predecessors. As for the design, one rumor says the regular iPhone 15 models will have glass and aluminum cases. The Pro version has a glass and stainless steel design, while the Pro Max (or Ultra) model will have a glass and titanium design.
Experts at TrendForce added that the most advanced version of the iPhone 15 series will have a periscope lens. On the other hand, analyst Ming-chi Kuo believes that there will be a significant camera upgrade appearing on the Pro versions. He also predicted that the top-end iPhone 15 model would have an 8P lens to improve image quality and reduce distortion, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
