iPhone 16 Pro may launch without Dynamic Island

Rumors regarding the iPhone 16 Pro started to appear when Apple was said to have tested the upcoming high-end prototype with a hole-punch cutout in the screen and made the Dynamic Island disappear.

According to PhoneArena, sharing on social network X, leaker Majin Bu said Apple is testing a punch-hole design for iPhone 16 Pro models. However, he also said that Apple’s final decision on the design may not be made until March next year.

Majin Bu also hinted that the punch-hole version is more likely to appear on the iPhone 17 than the iPhone 16 Pro models – which will likely retain Dynamic Island. This information is considered more likely because Dynamic Island only launched last year on iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max before rolling out to all iPhone 15 series members in 2023.

It is known that Majin Bu is the one who provided some accurate data about the iPad mini, iPhone 12 colors as well and iPhone 15 production issues.

Previously, when talking about the iPhone 17 series, leak expert Ross Young of DCSS pointed out other notable news about the product models launched in 2025. According to Young, all members come with screens. larger screens, with the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro models having 6.3-inch screens, and the iPhone 17 Plus and 17 Pro Max having 6.9-inch screens. More importantly, Young predicts that in 2025, Apple will bring ProMotion 120 Hz technology to less high-end iPhone models for the first time.

Finally, Young pointed out the possibility that the iPhone 17 Pro will have a Face ID module built into the screen, meaning the device could feature a screen without any cutouts.
