iPhone 16 will have an additional photo button

A recent leak from The Information site revealed that the iPhone 16 will have a new camera button. This button is integrated with additional features for filming, focusing, and adjusting zoom in and out.

Information indicates that this is a mechanical button, not capacitive. user’s iPhone will be able to zoom in and out by swiping the button left and right, focusing with a light press, and triggering recording with a harder press.

Apple plans to place the shutter button on the right side of the ‌iPhone‌, below the power button, and in an ideal position for easy finger use when the ‌iPhone‌ is held in landscape orientation. For now, this is where the mmWave antenna is located, but the antenna will move to the left edge of the device with the addition of this button.

According to The Information, Apple believes the new button will boost sales for the ‌iPhone 16‌ line and it is being introduced to help the ‌iPhone‌ replace the camera as well as make it easier for users to shoot landscape videos.

This information also coincides with the leak that Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman confirmed earlier that it will have a new button used to record videos on iPhone 16.

According to Gizchina, the new camera button may only be available on iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Previously, Apple launched a new Action button for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, replacing the mute button of previous iPhone models.
