Sony has recently released a significant update for the DualSense controller support application on Windows, providing several new features for PlayStation 5 controller users on computers. The updated application, now named ‘PlayStation Accessories’, features a modern user interface and enhanced customization options for the DualSense Edge controller. Users can now create and switch between different control configurations, customize button functions, and adjust vibration intensity and analog stick sensitivity to their preferences. However, it’s important to note that these customization features are currently only available for the DualSense Edge controller, while the standard DualSense controller still only supports firmware updates.
To use the updated PlayStation Accessories application, users can download it from https://controller.dl.playstation.net/controller/lang/en/2100004.html and will need a computer running Windows 10 or 11, with at least 250MB of free hard drive space and a minimum screen resolution of 1280 x 800. The controller can be connected to the computer via Bluetooth or a USB cable.
It’s worth mentioning that Sony has not yet provided a similar application for macOS users. However, macOS users can use virtualization software like Parallels to run the PlayStation Accessories application on a Mac.
Overall, this update represents a positive step by Sony to enhance the DualSense controller user experience on PC, particularly for professional gamers using the DualSense Edge controller.
