LG introduces a laptop thinner than the MacBook Air M2

LG will introduce at CES 2023 (USA) a pair of new laptops including Gram Style and Gram Ultraslim, each of which aims to offer innovative designs or thin chassis.

According to Digitaltrends , besides the aforementioned Gram models , LG also brought to CES an update of the standard Gram models, including 14-inch, 15-inch, 16-inch, 17-inch and 2-in-1.

LG Gram Ultraslim is the thinnest laptop model of the Korean company when it is only 10.92 mm thick, while the MacBoook Air M2 is 11.18 mm thick, making it one of the thinnest laptops ever produced. LG Gram Ultraslim continues LG’s reputation for creating the lightest laptop available today, weighing only about 998 grams.

Despite those dimensions, the LG Gram Ultraslim still has a 15.6-inch Full HD 16:9 OLED display with anti-glare coating, low reflection and 60 Hz refresh rate. Inside, the machine is equipped with Intel Raptor Lake P-Series CPU. a 13th generation

Next is the LG Gram Style which includes 14-inch and 16-inch versions, with a focus on aesthetics. They feature a glazed design with color options that change dynamically with ambient light. The hidden tactile touchpad has an LED backlight that illuminates when the user touches it.

In terms of configuration, LG Gram Style also has modern components, including 13th generation Intel Raptor Lake P series CPU, PCIe Gen 4 SSD and 16:10 OLED screen with anti-glare, low reflection, offers the ability to display WQXGA+ (3,200 x 2,000) at 120 Hz or WQXGA+ (2,880 x 1,800) at 90 Hz. Surround sound quality is also enhanced by the Dolby Atmos feature.

Meanwhile, the standard LG Gram series is also refreshed with 13th Gen Intel Core P-Series processors. The 16-inch and 17-inch models feature Nvidia RTX 3050 discrete GPUs for powerful performance. The heaviest model weighs 1.45 kg, while the lightest is 998 grams. The two largest models feature variable refresh rate (VRR) technology from 31 Hz to 144 Hz, and support for Dolby Atmos audio.

The 2-in-1 model of the LG Gram series has also been updated to 13th Gen Intel Core P-Series CPUs and offers a choice of 14-inch (16:10, 1,920 x 1,200 resolution) or 16-inch (16) displays :10, resolution 2,550 x 1,600). Several pre-installed drawing and note-taking apps support LG Stylus Pen based on Wacom AES 2.0 technology.

All new laptops announced by LG come with RAM configurations from 8 GB to 32 GB and up to 1 TB Gen 4 PCIe SSDs. Users are also provided with connectivity ports depending on the model, including USB-C with Thunderbolt 4, HDMI and a microSD card reader. All have 1080p webcams with enhanced video conferencing performance.

LG plans to start releasing new LG Gram models from February 2023, but pricing information has yet to be announced.
