Many people encounter the error of not being able to install iOS 17.3

Besides some new features, iPhone users are recommended to install iOS 17.3 to patch 16 serious vulnerabilities immediately. However, some people say they are getting errors when installing this version.

According to PhoneArena, some members on the Apple community page said they could not download iOS 17.3. Some received a pop-up saying the update could not be verified, so iOS 17.3 would not be available. The pop-up gives the user 2 options Try again or Remind me later. Some Reddit members said that simply tapping Retry is enough to install iOS 17.3. However, one user said his wife’s iPhone 12 Pro Max cannot do that.

After the issue was raised, ShibamMandal suggested that iPhone users who cannot install iOS 17.3 go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. From there, remove the iOS 17.3 update from the app list. Next, force your iPhone to restart by following these steps:

  • Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  • Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  • Press and hold the power button.
  • When the slider appears, slide to turn off the iPhone.
  • Then, hold down the power button to turn the iPhone back on

After restarting your iPhone, go to the Settings app > General > Software Update to try reinstalling iOS 17.3. Other users say this is what they used to help solve the problem of downloading software updates.

It is to be noted that while downloading the update, users should try to prevent interrupted internet connection as some believe that this is the main reason why software updates cannot be installed on their iPhones.
