Many Sony games has discontinued online mode

Sony is discontinuing multiplayer for Killzone Shadow Fall and two other games

According to GameRadar+, Guerrilla has announced that the multiplayer servers for three of its PlayStation games, including Killzone Shadow Fall , will be shutting down on August 12 of this year.

“On August 12, 2022, online servers for Killzone: Mercenary , Killzone Shadow Fall (including Intercept Mode) and RIGS: Mechanized Combat League will be closed,” Guerrilla said in a tweet. Online (including multiplayer) will be discontinued on that date. Offline single player modes are still available.”

While it’s not surprising that multiplayer support for outdated games was ended, the brief and quick announcement of the discontinuation of support caught players off guard.

For players who aim to hunt for trophies, they won’t be able to win prizes anymore, as all 3 games have trophies that can only be unlocked through online play.

As a major launch title for PS4, Killzone: Shadow Fall is definitely the most notable game on the list. The multiplayer servers for Killzone 2 and 3 were shut down in 2018, so with the end of support for Shadowfall this will officially put an end to online play by fans of the series.
