Meta has unveiled what it claims to be the “world’s best” AI model.

Meta, the parent company of social media giant Facebook, has recently announced the launch of Llama 3, a powerful language model that is expected to outperform other competing AI systems in encoding and other benchmarks. This new AI technology will allow users to access real-time information from search engines like Google and Bing without leaving the social media platform.

Llama 3 is available in two mini versions now, while a full multi-modal version is expected to be released later this year. The AI tool is open-source, which means it can also be incorporated into external applications or services. Additionally, Meta has introduced a new web-based Meta AI.

One of the most exciting features of Llama 3 is its ability to generate images at lightning speed based on each word in the command line. Users can type in a prompt such as “curly noodles,” and the AI will instantly generate an image to match the input. The tool also includes a feature for creating animated GIFs, which could be a fun addition to group chats.

Meta AI has expanded beyond the US to several countries, including Australia, Canada, Ghana, Jamaica, Malawi, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. While Llama 3 is currently limited to English, support for other languages is expected to come in the future.

With its deep integration with Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, coupled with global expansion, Meta AI is poised to make a significant impact in the world of artificial intelligence.
