Meta is about to launch a chatbot aimed at young users

Meta (Facebook’s parent company) is preparing to launch artificial AI chatbots, called “AI characters” aimed at young users.

Among the AI characters, Meta tested a character called “sassy robot” (sassy robot) inspired by the character Bender from the cartoon Futurama and the overly curious “Alvin the Alien” character. One company employee worried the character implied that the bot was created to collect personal information. Alvin the Alien is a character in the children’s television series The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss.

Meta intends to create more bots of this type, according to Theverge. The company has even been developing a chatbot creation tool, allowing celebrities to create their own chatbots to interact with fans.

The Wall Street Journal CEO quoted former Snap and Instagram Meghana Dhar as saying that Gen Z will certainly be much more comfortable with newer technology. Meta’s goal with these chatbots, as always with new products, is to keep users engaged longer in order to attract advertising.

characters Meta chatbot were reportedly tested on Instagram. Indeed, this plan has been in the works for some time. Engineers discovered details related to Meta’s AI characters in Instagram’s backend code in July. The backend is all the parts that support the operation of a website or application that are not visible to the user.

In a screenshot shared by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi, Meta’s AI chatbots have up to 30 different characters to choose from. Users can interact with a bot that talks like a surfer or Abraham Lincoln
