Each month, users in Europe can pay Meta 14 USD to use the Facebook social network entirely without ads.
According to WSJ, Meta is trying to avoid European Union regulations to tighten the situation of social network Facebook “bombarding” users with unwanted ads. ‘s company Internal sources confirmed that Mark Zuckerberg has discussed with authorities in Ireland and competition managers in the Belgian digital space about plans to open subscription packages for users who do not want to display ads from September
Specifically, users can choose a subscription package (SNA – Subscription No Ads) worth 14 USD/month to use Facebook and Instagram without ads if living in Europe. If they don’t want to pay, they can still use this social network as usual but must accept to see personalized ads.
The price is 14 USD/month for mobile users, 40% higher than for computer users. SNA costs 10 USD/month for this group of customers and an additional 6 USD/month for each linked account. The reason for the difference is that Meta has to pay commission fees to Apple and Google for making in-app payments on the App Store and Play Store software stores.
If the plan is implemented, instead of witnessing the competition on the stage between Elon Musk (X’s boss) and Zuckerberg (Meta CEO), users will have to watch the race to charge 2 billion social network usage fees. Previously, Mr. Musk also planned to charge ordinary users when they use the X platform.
