Microsoft adds GPT-4 Turbo and GPT-3.5 Turbo to Azure OpenAI service

Microsoft has just announced the addition of ChatGPT’s GPT-4 Turbo and GPT-3.5 Turbo to its Azure OpenAI service.

According to Neowin, before OpenAI fired CEO Sam Altman, Microsoft announced they were adding both GPT-4 Turbo and GPT -3.5 Turbo to the Azure OpenAI service. Both were revealed by Altman at OpenAI’s first developers conference earlier this month. That means businesses and developers can access both models through Microsoft with Azure OpenAI.

GPT-4 Turbo is a context window of up to 128K for custom data processing applications using techniques such as RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) – a method used in artificial intelligence to generate text or content based on combining information from external data sources. Accordingly, RAG combines both “retrieval” and “generation” methods to create new and high-quality content based on insights from data retrieval.

GPT-3.5 Turbo 1106 delivers the same new improvements as GPT-4 Turbo, including improvements to the JSON mode in the GPT-3.5 Turbo widely available format. JSON stands for JavaScript Object Notation, is a data format that follows certain rules that most programming languages today can read, and is an open standard for data exchange on the web.
