Microsoft has just announced that the Outlook application will be free for all Mac users, which previously required a Microsoft 365 subscription to use.
According to Microsoft, whether at home, work, or school, Mac users everywhere can easily add Outlook.com, Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo! or an IMAP account in the Outlook app for the best email and calendar experience on macOS. The Outlook for Mac app will complement Outlook for iOS – bringing the consistent, reliable, and powerful Outlook experience into the Apple ecosystem.
With Outlook for Mac, users can manage multiple accounts in one application, such as Google, iCloud, Microsoft, Yahoo, IMAP… According to the blog post, when signing in to Outlook with an email account personal, users get enterprise-grade security, with secure logins to authenticate and protect their identities.
The app provides a clean interface, and users can update email and calendar while using other apps via widgets or reminders in the Notification Center. With Apple’s Handoff feature, users can continue tasks between iOS devices and Macs.
In the next update, Microsoft Outlook will bring Profile, which helps connect users’ email accounts with Apple’s Focus utility. With Focus, users won’t receive unwanted or untimely notifications, helping to focus on important work emails without distraction.
For people with multiple accounts, the all-accounts view allows managing all inboxes at once without having to switch back and forth. According to Microsoft, this is a good way to see all incoming messages so you can choose how to reply.
