Microsoft is actively developing the Xbox Mobile Store

Microsoft Gaming CEO says Xbox’s mobile store will launch soon.

According to Gaming Bolt, Microsoft has made no secret of its intentions to further expand the company’s presence in the mobile gaming sector. This was even one of the key factors that led to the company trying to acquire Activision Blizzard. To that end, the Xbox mobile store is a key part of Microsoft’s plans.

According to Microsoft Gaming chief executive Phil Spencer, the company is “actively working” on a mobile Xbox store. He also added that Microsoft is talking with partners about the most potential monetization options for mobile titles that will be available in the store in the future.

“It’s a key part of our strategy and something we’re actively working on at the moment, not just on our own but talking to many other partners who also want more options for how they can make money on their phone.”

Spencer didn’t give a specific timeline for the launch of the Xbox mobile store, but he said it’s not something that will take years, but will happen sometime in the future.

This isn’t the first time Microsoft has spoken out about its plans to launch a mobile Xbox store. The company confirmed in October 2022 that it was developing a “next generation” mobile store to compete with Apple and Google.
