Microsoft has recently announced that users can now use its artificial intelligence (AI) assistant in Office web apps without subscribing to Microsoft 365. This comes as part of the company’s expansion of its $20-a-month Copilot Pro, launched to consumers earlier in the year. To encourage users to try out its AI assistant, Microsoft is offering a one-month free trial of Copilot Pro, which includes priority access to the latest OpenAI models, the ability to build your own Copilot GPT, and access to Copilot within Office apps for Microsoft 365 Personal or Home subscribers.
The company also makes Copilot Pro available within Office web apps, so users can use chatbots without needing a separate Microsoft 365 subscription. This integration will soon be available in mobile apps. According to Microsoft’s Director of Search and Marketing AI, Ms. Divya Kumar, the benefit will also be extended to free mobile apps, including the Microsoft 365 and Outlook apps on iOS and Android, in the coming months.
To try out Copilot Pro, users must install the Copilot app on their iOS or Android device and receive the one-month free offer. Since its launch last year, Microsoft has been promoting the use of the Copilot mobile app, including a Super Bowl ad focused solely on the mobile version.
