Microsoft pushes Windows 10 users to Windows 11

Microsoft is increasingly active in enticing users to switch from Windows 10 to Windows 11, even not allowing users to “opt out”.

According to Neowin, a user posted a photo of his Windows 10 computer on Reddit with an on-screen ad offering to upgrade to the latest Windows 11. What surprised everyone was that the options available had only two buttons and they all meant “I agree”.

Content promotes Windows 11 by claiming that the operating system is now unlocked, which users can download now (first button and colored) or schedule installation later (second button) ). The only way to decline the offer is to click the little “Keep Windows 10” link on the white wall at the bottom of the screen.

Microsoft’s use of this banner has made Windows 10 users unhappy. Many people said they were able to click the first button without reading the entire message when they wanted to continue using the computer.

Notably, this acceleration of Microsoft’s rollout of Windows 11 comes in the context that the company has just announced that it will stop selling Windows 10, so many users feel they have no choice but to switch to Windows 11.

At the present time, Microsoft has not started an automatic upgrade to Windows 11, so the possibility of an automatic system to Windows 11 is unlikely. Microsoft’s approach is simply to put pressure on users in an effort to make Windows 11 more popular. A new report from StatCounter shows that Windows 11 accounts for about 18% of Windows users.

In case you want to avoid similar banners from Microsoft, the community says users can intentionally disable the TPM feature to make the computer “incompatible” with Windows 11. However, this can make increase the security risk of the system.
