Microsoft released a new update for Windows 11

Microsoft has just released the latest major update for Windows 11, 23H2, allowing users to download official image files so they can install from scratch or update directly.

According to Neowin, like its predecessor update versions for Windows 11, 21H2, and 22H2, version 23H2 will receive an active support policy for 2 years with cumulative updates, bug fixes, and new features. monthly. Windows 11 21H2 expired support early last month, while Microsoft version 22H2 will end support on October 4, 2024.

Also in its announcement, Microsoft said the company will provide service support for Enterprise and Education versions of Windows 11 23H2, while Home and Pro versions will receive 24 months of support.

Despite being called a major update for Windows 11, version 23H2 seems to have little to offer if users have already installed the Moment 4 update. The biggest change users noticed after installing Windows 11 23H2 was the lack of Cortana and the old Mail app (which has been replaced by the new Outlook). Additionally, the Chat app is no longer pinned to the taskbar, replaced by Microsoft Teams.

If users upgrade to 23H2 from older Windows 11 or Windows 10 updates, the latest release brings many new features, such as a redesigned Volume Mixer, upgraded taskbar, new File Explorer RAR support, native RGB control in the Settings app, Windows Copilot, Photos and Paint improvements, Windows Backup app

Users can download Windows 11 23H2 from Microsoft’s official website, where the company provides direct links to ISO files and the Media Creation Tool application to create a live bootable USB installation tool. Alternatively, go to Windows Update, enable the Get the latest updates as soon as they’re an available option, and then check for available updates.
