Nintendo adds 5 more Sega Genesis games to the Expansion Pack

Nintendo just brought five more classic Sega Genesis games to its Switch Online service’s Expansion Pack.

According to Engadget, the Expansion Pack of the Switch Online service has just added 5 games including Altered Beast, ToeJam & Earl, Dynamite Headdy, Sword of Vermilion, and Thunder Force II.

The Expansion Pack is a premium service pack for Switch Online that launched in October, adding Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games to the existing offerings of NES and SNES titles, as well as cloud storage. the cloud aims to be able to save game data and the option to play multiplayer online. Nintendo will charge an Expansion Pack for $50/year or $80/year for the family plan, compared to $20 per year for the regular Switch Online service.

Immediately after the Expansion Pack went live, players reported some problems with the service such as poor emulator quality, lost save data, and other problems.

However, Nintendo is continuing to ramp up the number of games for the Expansion Pack with the Paper Mario classic N64 earlier this month, and Banjo-Kazooie will arrive in January next year.
