As reported by Business Insider, an anonymous fan said they spent 5.6 million yen (over $40,000) on Nintendo stock, to get the right to participate in the company’s annual shareholder meeting. on June 29 and asked about the revival of the F-Zero .

Fans asked Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa if the company would consider relaunching some of its fan-favorite game franchises, namely F-Zero. Despite appearing in Mario Kart 8, the racing series has been inactive since 2004.

Furukawa responded, “It’s actually very difficult to develop new titles and remakes, including sequels, for every Nintendo game that players ask for, but we’re grateful and appreciative. the expectations the fans have for our game.”

Nintendo senior executive Shinya Takahashi also responded to this fan, saying, “We’re always looking at how to develop new titles and remakes that can be enjoyed by many players.” Takahashi continued, “we can’t tell you if there are plans to remake any particular game in the future, but during development, we were always thinking about the different possibilities that we might have. players want to enjoy.”

The answer seems to disappoint F-Zero fans, as it didn’t get the expected answer. But with Takahashi’s encouraging reply, the idea of ​​F-Zero is still not without a chance, just maybe not at this point.
