Nintendo is about to launch a very cool Mario Red OLED Switch

A new version of the Switch OLED will launch in October with the Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

According to VGC, Nintendo recently announced the Switch OLED game console Mario Red Edition. As a move to confirm previous rumors, the company officially revealed the console during the Nintendo Direct livestream on August 31.

The new console will be released on October 6 of this year, two weeks before Super Mario Bros. Wonder is released. The suggested retail price of Mario Red Edition is 349.99 USD

The new Nintendo Switch OLED will have two Joy-Con controllers and a Switch base with Mario’s red tones. The back of the dock has a small image of Mario jumping imprinted on it, with some hidden coins on it.

The Nintendo Direct stream also provided a more detailed look at Super Mario Bros. Wonder before it’s released exclusively on Switch on October 20. Announced in June, it’s the original Mario 2D side-scrolling game.

During its latest quarterly financial results press conference this month, Nintendo said worldwide lifetime sales of the Switch had reached 129.53 million units by mid-2023.

Driven by the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo shipped an additional 3.91 million Switch consoles between March and June, a 13.9% increase from the same period last year. Nintendo forecasts it will sell about 15 million Switch units in the current fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, down 16.5% from last year.
