NVIDIA graphics card users need to update drivers urgently

NVIDIA has issued an urgent warning regarding significant security vulnerabilities present in its GPU drivers. These vulnerabilities impact a wide range of graphics cards, including GeForce, RTX, Quadro, NVS, and Tesla models, across both Windows and Linux operating systems.

The identified vulnerabilities are critical, with the potential for hackers to exploit them to execute malicious code, escalate system privileges, steal sensitive data, alter information, and carry out denial-of-service attacks. The severity of these vulnerabilities has been assessed on a scale of 1 to 10, with ratings ranging from 7.1 to 8.2.

To address these issues, NVIDIA strongly advises users to update their drivers to the latest versions available on its official website. In some instances, computer manufacturers may also release updated drivers that incorporate essential security patches.

The specific driver versions that NVIDIA recommends for update include:

  • Windows:
  • GeForce, RTX, Quadro, NVS: 566.03 / 553.24 / 538.95
  • Tesla: 553.24 / 538.95
  • Linux:
  • GeForce, RTX, Quadro, NVS: 565.57.01 / 550.127.05 / 535.216.01
  • Tesla: 550.127.05 / 535.216.01

By ensuring that these updates are applied, users can enhance the security of their systems and protect against potential exploitation.
