Oppo launches Find N smartphone with folding screen

On the second day of the event technology global Oppo Inno Day 2021, Oppo fully revealed its first folding screen smartphone called Find N.

The Find N has a similar design to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series, with a large square folding OLED panel on the inside and a smaller screen on the outside that can be used when the phone is closed. The 7.1-inch internal screen offers a 120 Hz refresh rate and a slightly horizontal 9:8.4 aspect ratio, which means users don’t have to rotate the phone 90 degrees to view the video at its fullest size. There are also dual stereo speakers located at the bottom of the phone, further improving the experience of quickly picking up the phone to watch a video.

The Find N screen is a Samsung-made panel but has been customized by Oppo, including its own patent. The screen is protected by UTG glass, with the promise of 200,000 folds, on par with the Galaxy Z Fold. The crease in the display is wide but hard to see as it surrounds a unique teardrop hinge that has also been patented by Oppo. Another benefit of this design is that the phone can be folded without leaving a gap between the two halves of the screen.

The 5.49-inch external screen has a 2:1 aspect ratio, only a 60 Hz refresh rate, which is much lower than the internal screen.

Oppo Find N is equipped with Snapdragon 888 chip, along with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 memory. The large 4,500 mAh battery provides all-day battery life, while 33W SuperVOOC fast charging is optimized, with 55% charging in 30 minutes and 100% full in 70 minutes. The device also comes with 15W AirVOOC wireless charging (Qi compatible) and 10W reverse wireless charging. Oppo Find N also features a built-in fingerprint at the power button, dual speaker system, and Dolby Atmos support to deliver immersive sound.

Oppo also gives the Find N a number of gestures that help make the most of the larger screen, including pinching with four fingers to collapse a full-screen app into a smaller floating column or splitting the screen by swiping down with two fingers.

Oppo Find N will be on display at the official Oppo Experience Store system in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi so that users can experience Oppo’s leading technologies.
