Qualcomm has recently introduced the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2, a cost-effective 5G chipset tailored for mainstream smartphones. This new 5G chipset, fabricated using a 4nm process, touts 8 processing cores, comprising 2 high-performance Cortex-A78 cores and 6 power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores. Additionally, it incorporates an Adreno GPU with unspecified specifications and supports LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
The Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 includes a 5G modem that delivers a maximum download speed of 1Gbps and extends support to FHD+ displays with a 90Hz refresh rate, as well as main camera sensors of up to 84MP. It encompasses wireless connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1.
Xiaomi has revealed its intentions to launch the first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 in India later this year. This chipset is poised to elevate the 5G experience on budget-friendly devices, ultimately contributing to the broader adoption of 5G technology in India, the world’s second most populous market.
