Samsung launches a microSD memory card with a capacity of up to 1 TB

Samsung has recently introduced microSD memory cards with impressive capacities of up to 1 terabyte (TB) under the PRO Plus and EVO Plus series. With a spacious 1 TB capacity, these cards enable users to store over 400,000 4K UHD images or more than 45 console games. The expanded capacity of PRO Plus and EVO Plus presents new possibilities for various mobile devices such as smartphones, action cameras, drones, and handheld gaming consoles.

Aside from the substantial 1 TB option, Samsung offers the PRO Plus and EVO Plus cards in other capacities including 128 gigabytes (GB), 256 GB, and 512 GB. The EVO Plus series also includes a 64 GB version. The PRO Plus range is designed to accommodate high-quality content with exceptional performance, facilitating a seamless creative process. It boasts impressive sequential read speeds of up to 180 megabytes per second (MB/s) and sequential write speeds of up to 130 MB/s. Additionally, the PRO Plus cards are equipped with UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) and Video Speed Class 30 (V30) for 4K UHD video, along with A2 standard application performance, providing users with a reliable and efficient storage solution.

On the other hand, the EVO Plus cards are geared towards improving data storage capabilities and smooth multitasking on devices with transfer speeds of up to 160 MB/s. They also feature UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) and Video Speed Class 30 (V30) for 4K UHD video, along with A2 application performance. Even the 64 GB version of the EVO Plus series comes with UHS Speed Class 1 (U1), Video Speed Class 10 (V10), and A1 standard application performance.

Both the PRO Plus and EVO Plus cards are compatible with a wide range of everyday devices such as Android smartphones, tablets, and handheld game consoles. They are also suitable for use in challenging environments, including action cameras and drones, catering to content creation, editing, and data storage needs.

As of now, the market features the 1 TB PRO Plus and EVO Plus memory card models. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the PRO Plus memory card starts at 25 USD for the 128 GB version
