Samsung started releasing Android 14 for the Galaxy S22 series

The trio of smartphones in the Galaxy S22 series will start receiving Android 14 and One UI 6 updates this week.

The plan to update Android 14 (stable version) for the Galaxy S22 series was deployed quickly and before the folding screen duo Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5 were launched not long ago. Two folding screen models ship with Android 13 and One UI 5.1.1 interface.

According to Phone Arena, all three S22/S22 Plus and S22 Ultra models have started receiving Android 14 updates since last weekend, but it has been done in small doses with a group of participants in the community testing program. It wasn’t until earlier this week that many people in different countries began to pay attention to the information after a post appeared on the social network Reddit.

The operating system upgrade for last year’s Samsung flagship trio will be available for all markets. Currently, most Galaxy S22 series users in European countries such as the UK, Netherlands, Romania, Croatia, Greece, Poland, Portugal, and Germany have all had notifications to update their devices. For other markets, it is likely that you will receive device updates more slowly than in Europe, but you won’t have to wait too long.

The capacity of the Android 14 version of the device is about 3 GB, comes with the November security patch and many improvements and optimizations for operation, adding a few new features. According to reviews from those who have experienced Android 14 Beta (testing), the new operating system will bring many system optimizations as well as significantly improve device performance, even “feeling like you are using a new device. Or at least better than before.”
