Samsung is rolling out a new free backup solution that allows Galaxy smartphone and tablet users to access as much temporary storage as they want.

According to Android Authority, Samsung’s new service aims to simplify the process of finding data backup services, which is becoming quite difficult today. Called Temporary Cloud Backup, Samsung’s service is not an alternative to Google Drive

Instead, it works like Apple’s temporary iCloud storage feature, allowing users to access unlimited storage for a short period of time. In Samsung’s case, that period is 30 days from the date of the initial backup. Files under 100 GB will be accepted.

These limitations are enough for users to find alternative storage options, restore data to a new device, or need to have their phone repaired.
