Samsung will replace Android with Fuchsia OS

Twitter account Dohyun Kim has just said, Samsung is preparing to switch from Android to Fuchsia with a completion time that will take a few years. This rumor is also corroborated by leak expert Ice Universe.

According to PhoneArena, Google has been working on the open-source Fuchsia operating system since at least 2016. At the end of May this year, the first-generation Nest Hub smart display became the first to run the operating system. This is released. It’s an operating system platform for a wide range of devices and offers a number of advantages over Android, such as the ability to easily update.

In 2018, Bloomberg reported that Google plans to Android and Chrome devices, including Pixel smartphones, to port Fuchsia. In 2019, Google’s Hiroshi Lockheimer pointed out that the smart home is just the starting point for the new platform.

Samsung’s involvement in Fuchsia became apparent as the company began contributing to the development of the new operating system for a while. Meanwhile, Google’s plans to expand the operating system to more smart devices and other design elements became apparent when the company started posting job listings a few months ago. The company has also formed a group of Fuchsia Devices and is preparing to bring the operating system to non-Google devices.

In addition, Huawei is also considering adopting this platform. It is reported that in 2018, the company Chinese is working to bring Fuchsia to a gaming phone. Huawei’s internal operating system, Harmony OS, is also based on the same channel as Fuchsia.
