Sifu Early Release Version Unable to Download

Pre-ordered players will be able to access the game 2 days early, but there’s been a bit of a glitch.

According to Engadget, as part of the February 8 release of Sifu, developer Sloclap made a special digital version of the game available through the PlayStation Store with early access to the title. If you have pre-ordered, the developer will tell you that you can play Sifu 2 days in advance.

However, when the early access phase began on February 2, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 owners discovered that they were unable to download the game. In a tweet spotted by Eurogamer, developer Sloclap acknowledged the issue and said it was working with Sony to quickly fix this. “We are aware that there are issues that are preventing the download of Sifu through early access on the PlayStation Store and are very sorry for the inconvenience,” the developer said. “Sloclap is looking into fixing the issue as soon as possible and will update players on the situation soon.”

Hours later, Slotlap shared more updates as promised, noting that Sony is actively investigating the issue.

After an intervention from Sony, PlayStation users were able to download an early access version of Sifu. The developer side of Slotlap has also promised an exclusive gift for all owners of the Deluxe version early access. If the game still cannot be downloaded, Slotlap recommends that players restart their console and try launching Sifu from the library menu.
