Snapchat wants to integrate advertising in the stories of stars

According to information reported by the American media, when an advertisement is placed in the story of a “Snap Star”, Snapchat will share the revenue collected with the creator in question . The company also specifies that this sharing will be based on a formula that takes into account certain parameters such as the frequency of publications by the creator and the engagement provoked.

For the time being, this feature will only be intended for “Snap Stars”, i.e. videographers with a large number of followers and whose profile has been verified by Snapchat. A gold star is affixed next to their name. This new measure comes as the boss of Snapchat welcomed the success of Spotlight , an application launched in November 2020 modeled on the operation of TikTok.

To keep the momentum going, Evan Spiegel announced that he would pay creators $1 million a day to boost video production on Spotlight. Today, the CEO assures that his company continues to pay several million dollars each month to the authors of the most popular videos on Spotlight. According to him, Snapchat paid out a total of no less than $250 million to creators in 2021.
