Qualcomm is gearing up to release its next flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, in October. This chip is expected to power high-end Android smartphones like the Xiaomi 15 and Galaxy S25. Before its official launch, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 made an appearance on the performance evaluation platform Geekbench, boasting impressive scores. According to a report from Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the processor achieved a single-core score of 2,884 points and a multi-core score of 8,840 points on Geekbench.
These scores signify a significant performance boost compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, with the multi-core score showing nearly 30% improvement and the single-core score demonstrating a 35% increase over last year’s flagship processor.
While details about GPU performance are currently unavailable, considering the previous success of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it is presumed that the GPU performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will also be remarkable. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s GPU performance outperformed the 6-core GPU of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, indicating strong potential for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in this aspect.
It’s worth noting that performance scores can be further enhanced, as the current scores may be based on benchmark tests for pre-production models, which typically leave room for improvement.
In addition, it has been reported that the upcoming Galaxy S25 series from Samsung will utilize a variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, along with Samsung’s own Exynos 2500 chip on certain models. Moreover, there are rumors that the Exynos 2500 could potentially offer superior performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
