Sony reveals the most downloaded PlayStation games of 2023

The list of the most popular games on PlayStation has been ‘revealed’ by Sony.

According to VGC, Sony has just revealed the list of the most downloaded games on the PlayStation Store in 2023. This list includes separate top 20 rankings for both PlayStation 4 (PS4) and PlayStation 5 (PS5) in both North America and Europe. In addition, Sony also announced the top 10 games for PlayStation VR, PlayStation VR2, and free games by region.

Sports is the dominant game genre, accounting for 20 of the 80 positions available for both the PS4 and PS5 leaderboards. Besides, games from Rockstar Games and Call of Duty also hold 7 and 6 positions, respectively.

In North America, Hogwarts Legacy leads the PS5 charts, followed by Modern Warfare III, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Madden NFL 24, and NBA 2K24. In Europe, EA Sports FC took the top spot, followed by Hogwarts Legacy, Modern Warfare III, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Spider-Man 2.

Meanwhile, Modern Warfare III leads the way on PS4 in the US/Canada, followed by Hogwarts Legacy, MLB The Show 23, Madden NFL 24, and NBA 2K24. The soccer game EA Sports FC dominates in the European region, followed by Minecraft, Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 5, and FIFA 23.

Pavlov is the most downloaded game on PS VR2 in both regions. Beat Saber and Kayak VR: Mirage ranked second and third in the US/Canada, while their positions were interchanged in Europe.

Beat Saber is the most downloaded PS VR in North America, followed by Job Simulator and Superhot VR. In Europe, Job Simulator is at the top, followed by Beat Saber and Superhot VR.

Fortnite, Roblox, and Call of Duty: Warzone are the most downloaded free games in both regions.

In addition, a reputable information miner seems to have revealed notable information about the full name of the Death Stranding sequel. Specifically, this person said this PS5 game is called Death Stranding 2 – On The Beach, and a new reveal about the game is planned within the next 15 days.
