Sony tests ‘Hey PlayStation!’ voice command for PS5

Sony has announced plans to offer a new PS5 and PS4 system software beta update to testers, adding control with voice commands.

According to The Verge, Sony has announced that it will begin rolling out the second beta software for the PS5 on Wednesday, February 9, bringing new changes such as party chat updates, user interface settings, and more. New and preview of voice command feature.

According to information on Sony’s blog about the beta update, the PS5 will be able to listen to the voice command ‘Hey PlayStation!’ and lets you find and open games, apps, settings, and controls to play a show or a song. If you don’t want to use it, Sony says you can turn it off in the settings. Voice commands will initially be available in English to beta users with registered accounts in the US and UK.

Sony is also making some changes to party conversations. Allows users to join without an invitation or when it’s closed. However, only other users on the beta can participate.

There are also some new features, such as the ability to keep certain games or apps on the Home screen, design updates, and more screen reader languages. Sony says software updates for both PS5 and PS4 will be available to everyone worldwide later this year.
