Sony will bring a series of PS2 games to PS4 and PS5

Sony recently announced that PlayStation 4 (PS4) and PS5 users will soon have access to a selection of games from the PS2 library. This decision comes after Sony introduced the PS Plus Premium tier, which offers classic games from older PlayStation platforms. While Sony has released titles from previous platforms on PS Plus and the PlayStation Store, the PS2 had been noticeably absent from these offerings.

To address this, Sony has revealed plans to roll out PS2 games for current hardware in response to numerous requests from fans. The first wave of PS2 games is set to debut on June 11 as part of PlayStation Plus (PS Plus). This initial series will include titles such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, and Tomb Raider Legend, which will be available for free to PS Plus Premium members. Additionally, these games can be purchased individually through the PS Store. It is expected that each game will feature new graphical enhancements and trophies when adapted for modern platforms.

Looking ahead, Sony aims to expand the selection of PS2 games available on PS Plus, catering to the demand for a comprehensive catalog of accessible PS2 games on current PlayStation hardware. However, it remains to be seen how well these beloved games will perform on the PS4 and PS5 platforms.
