Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster will be released early next year

The remake of 1995’s first-person shooter Star Wars: Dark Forces has a release date.

According to Gaming Bolt game, Nightdive Studios’ Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster will officially launch on February 28, 2024. The new game is a remake based on LucasArts’ first-person shooter Star Wars, which was also released on February 28, 1995 for the MS-DOS platform

The game’s story focuses on the character Kyle Katarn, who will join the ranks of the Rebel Alliance and infiltrate the Galactic Empire, with the purpose of finding out information about the dark Dark Trooper project. The game’s redesign was done through Nightdive’s KEX engine, which supports resolutions up to 4K and frame rates of 120FPS. Players can also expect improved lighting and visual rendering effects, enhanced cutscenes, gamepad support, high-resolution active textures, weapon wheels for arsenal management trophies, and individual Trophies/Achievements. At launch, the Remaster version will be available on platforms such as Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC (via Steam).

It is known that developer Nightdive Games is also working on other games such as System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition ( which recently received a new trailer), and Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion Remastered (coming out on November 14 this year)
