NBA legend will be featured in the game’s luxury editions, available for pre-order starting July 7
NBA legend Michael Jordan will be honored in NBA 2K23, which has a premiere date set for September 9. In a statement, 2K Sports confirmed that the basketball star will print the covers of the game’s special editions, which will mark the return of the iconic Jordan Challenges of 2011.
Air Jordan will highlight the covers of Michael Jordan Edition and Championship Edition, luxury versions available for pre-order starting July 7. Both will offer rewards on coins and packs for MyTeam and only the most expensive will entitle you to a one-year subscription to the NBA League Pass, the streaming service that broadcasts all games — live and on demand — of the season.
Considered the greatest basketball player of all time, with six titles for the Chicago Bulls, five MVP awards and 14 all-star game appearances, Michael Jordan will again be on the cover of a series game. Previously, the athlete starred in NBA 2K11 and NBA 2K16, and now again draws attention in an edition that references the number of his uniform.
“After making 23 the most recognizable number in sports, it was only fair that for NBA 2K23 we launched the Michael Jordan Edition,” said Alfie Brody, vice president of global marketing strategy at NBA 2K. The standard version cover athlete is rumored to be NBA All-Star Devin Booker, and several WNBA athletes are set to appear on NBA 2K23’s own special covers .The prices of the contents have not yet been disclosed, the consoles have not yet been announced, but expect the same division between the capabilities of the current generation and next generation consoles.
In addition to the news mentioned, the title will feature the return of Jordan challenges. These events were originally released in NBA 2K11 and consist of a series of 15 challenges where players must recreate landmark moments from MJ’s career.
