The Last of Us Part 2 remake is coming soon

The composer for The Last of Us has just revealed a piece of new information about the remake of the franchise.

According to Insider Gaming composer Gustavo Santaolalla, in a recent interview with The Last of Us, he hinted that The Last of Us Part 2 will get a remake.

More specifically, Santaolalla says that players will be able to request the songs they desire in the new version of the game. While he didn’t explicitly mention that there will be a The Last of US Part 2 Remaster, this little hint from the composer could have game fans speculating about the future of The Last of Us 2

Besides, the new feature could also be part of the Director’s Cut version (version with different content and changed at the discretion of the director) of the game. Either way, there’s a good chance a new version of the game is coming out.

In recent years, Sony has released several versions of Director’s Cut, such as Ghost of Tsushima’s Director’s Cut and Death Stranding both coming to PlayStation 5.

With the success of HBO’s The Last of Us series and the much-delayed multiplayer version of The Last of Us in development, a Director’s Cut for season 2 would make the right thing to capitalize on the near success.
